The Great Unifier

This state of lurching back and forth, caught between the instinctive need for unity and the desire for individual definition, will last until we want harmony and unity more than we want our right to do whatever we want, however we want to do it. It is unfortunate that past evidence has created the expectation that on both the macro and micro levels the balance will need to be reached through suffering and disasters. When we have finally suffered enough to be done with it, we will muster our powerful will to demand something else. That demand, being sick and tired of suffering, is the sign for the heart to step forward and offer its services as the great unifier.
