The Art of Discernment
The Art of Discernment
Greetings to you on this most auspicious day, auspicious because you are here, auspicious because the flock has re-gathered. Each of you bringing material, so to speak, sticks, leaves, from your own nest to bring to form this larger nest. With the offerings of your awareness, with the offerings of your experience, mostly with the offering of your heart which of course can include your questions, yours confusions, your objections; and yet you are here. And so you came to learn to teach what you know and learn what you don't yet. How simple.
The theme that we would like to impart to you is what has been called discernment. It is of course your discernment that brought you here you had to, so to speak, discern among the many options that you had. What was it that told you, called you, implored you, urged you, perhaps even demanded you make your way to this nest. For some of you that discernment was simple, it was clear. The voice of your discernment, partner of your discernment, the shepherd of your discernment, is your intuition. Together they join. If you let them, if you give them permission, they will serve as your guide. They will give you the information you need, in this case to arrive here, and to sort among the possibilities, some of them possibilities of action, but possibilities of thought, possibilities of feeling, possibilities of words, and then to then act upon that discerned, intuited choice.
There are, as this one would say, some tricky choices, some tricky navigations when one enters the realm of intuitive discerning choice. There are after all, at times, many competing voices inside your little universe. Most of them are aspects of you. You are of course multi-faceted being. Some of them come to challenge you, some of them come to try to influence you, come from other places. The art of discernment is what you are here to learn because when you open yourself to be guided that which guides you is ideally that which you wish to guide you, that which wants what is good for you and for all.
At the base of what is necessary to allow the development of your discerned intuition is humility. Why? Because you will listen to voices, to impulses, and follow them and regret it later. You will look back and know that what you listened to, you would not listen to again. Humility allows you to hold that without criticizing yourself. Everything is for your learning here. Everything is for you to become examples to others who are also searching for that which will guide them through the waters, the turbulence, of the times you are living through. May you be blessed now as you continue your work of building your nest, tending to your nest, appreciating your nest, helping each other learn how to fly, catching each other when you fall. May you be blessed with this peace.
